New Race with leftovers

Already said this but not here,
Ogres, Assassins, Doom Knights, Eyes of Flames, Gnolls, Goblin Chief, et al. could be a new race (Dark Empire). Using old WBCII buildings and, as for Empire, they could call dark units as mercenaries.

I don't think they're leftovers, just units which haven't been integrated into the game yet due to severe balancing issues (although to me many of the unit exclusions are questionable).

Leftovers = units only achievable through special situations (Campaign, quests etc)
I just suggested this since it took some many time to balance teams/races...
Most of us want doom knights and other units to be introduced again... I just think that there is room for some kind of novelty...

I think there's quite a way to go yet before the races are fully balanced, especially when heroes become involved. I'm not entirely sure that equalizing the units is the right thing to do either because the races can potentially lose their unique properties (and then there's the problem with non-splash units which have more than 1 unit cap).

The balancing is definitely getting there though IMO, slowly but surely .

Not going to happen. As of 0.8.4, ALL units have been restored.

If you're saying that ALL units are now availlable (not considering balancing) I think that's good News! So the leftover discussion makes no sense now. I missed Doom Knights and Ogres so much. What made you reconsider?

It was no reconsideration. I simply played with all races in the unreleased version (which rebalanced most of the units) and felt good enough to finally allow more units. It was an intended, reachable milestone from the beginning. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to close this topic.
