How do I load the game in original campaign?

I installed the original campaign addon and it seems to be working just fine. However, clicking [Singleplayer > C. Campaign] immediately gives me a character creation window (even though I already created a character and played one mission with it).

There just doesn't seem to be a possibility to continue the campaign from where I left off.
Am I doing something wrong? I would like it to work like in the original.

You are having the hero not saved bug. Just delete my documents/ the protectors folder and run the game as admin to fix it.
