Can't start the game

Hi all, my first time here.
Just downloaded the game but can't start it.
After download the 3 missing dll (binkw32.dll, Mss32.dll, and wetstd32.dll) now I'm getting an "_AIL_3D_sample... error".

Can anyone have the correct version of those dlls or how to fix this?

Sounds like a misinstall. First you need to download and install TPC v0.8 FULL then apply the patches consecutively (0.8.1 then 0.8.2 then 0.8.3).

Thanks for the reply, I did as you suggest.

Now I can start the exe, but after 2 seconds of black screen the program is closed without any message.

I'm using win 8: what can I do or how can I get some info to track down what is happening?

Indeed this resolution thing is quite a bugger - but that's what happens when you try to play old games on "modern" screens. Another fix other than running on a different monitor would be running TPC in windowed mode and we are working on that (currently not available in 0.8.3).

Now i can start the game with a monitor supporting 800X600.

Now I have another problem but maybe I have to starto a new thread =)

I remember some time ago I used a game wrapper to play WBC3 in windowed mode. I've no idea whether it will work with The Protectors or not though. I think I used this one. It could be worth a try .
