What are those 2 new Symbols?

Hello,

i'd like to know what the second currency means which is shown beside the gem/gold/stone/metal costs on each unit when viewed from a factory window. Its a red symbol with a number.

Also, there seems to be a new symbol which is located at the top menu bar in the interface, between the vanially resources and the unit limit. it has another colour (orange), but looks somewhat similiar. For me, it is always zero.
