Something strange with army limit in game against swarm

It happened in C.Campaign, Hero of Etheria, "Daros Gap". My first game against swarm after the patch.
When I succesfully beaten barbarians, I started fight with swarm and discovered that I can't do anything because my army limit dropped to 1.
I have been playing "The Protectors" for a long time and I noticed that problem for the first time. It was my first defeat in "Daros Gap".
Maybe I missed something? I hope for your answer.

Devourers eat up your food. There is also a spell that significantly lowers your army limit.
