| Unless there are other future plans, I suppose Shops should be always Neutral? Editor allows you to choose a team for it.

| I suppose you could have a shop on a side for aesthetics or special events. I wouldn't limit the choices and capabilities of the editor in this regard. (Quest buildings are forced neutral because otherwise they would cause a crash). | |

| Yet I will not take this decision alone if need be. What do the others think? Speak! | |

| I don't see a lot of point in making them side specific. You could always just stick the shop in a particular side's base if you want to show it as "theirs". Besides, merchants only have one loyalty, and that's money | |

| Personally I think it would only restrict map creativity. | |

I agree with you here, but just for a moment, imagine you are in a campaign mission where you need to defend a shop for some reason. If the shop is on your side, or if on some passive ally side you must protect, the enemy will actively engage you, trying to destroy the shop you want to protect. If it remained neutral however (even within the base owners side base), the mission in question would be pointless, since you want to protect a building which will never be attacked (intentionally, I mean). This turns more into a question of creativity (Joe) rather than aesthetics (Patrick) for me. And of course, protecting shrines or mausoleums is a possibility here as well (I haven’t done anything like that before, just for the record. I can imagine some graveyard, ghost kind of quests). So, everything considered, may I, as undemocratically as it is, change my vote on this matter? | |
